Sr Mitigation Analyst
Oversee and supervise up to eight (8) Mitigation Analysts
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as Team Leader for 3 – 8 Mitigation Analyst 2
Provide direct supervision and counseling to Mitigation Analysts
Ensure that documentation for applicants and grant payments are made in full compliance with state and federal rules and regulations that govern HMGP
Provide guidance to Mitigation Analyst regarding regulations, program eligibility and other issues.
Review other individuals’ work and provide constructive criticism.
Prepare updated information for various reports to be submitted in a timely manner for review by Hazard Mitigation Program authorities
Schedule and attend meetings to be informed and to be able to inform group members of changes and/or updates along with issues of concern.
Coach and provide career development advice to staff
Responsible for staff scheduling to include: work assignments/rotations, employee training, employee time, employee attendance, employee expense, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, and back-up for absent employees
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- BA/BS/AA degree in relative field
- Must have no less than 2 years direct experience in Mitigation Grant programs as a Mitigation Analyst
- Extensive experience with FEMA Mitigation programs
- 2 years of directly related professional work experience may substitute for educational requirements
- Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations 44CRF; Stafford Act, and Hazard Mitigation Desk Reference
- Must have a working knowledge and understand and apply complex local, State and Federal regulation relative to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) being administered by the Office of Community Development (OCD)
- Effective oral, listening, and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of applicable rules and regulations and the ability to provide technical assistance for the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program
- Strong analytical skills, ability to work independently and effective interpersonal skills are required
Desired:
- 3 years direct experience in FEMA Mitigation Programs with State/Local governments
