Mitigation Analyst
Summary:
Work directly with homeowners and internally manage both the HMGP1603 and HMGP 1607 Elevation/Pilot Reconstruction and Individual Mitigation Measures Applications

Primary Responsibilities:
•Provide oversight of the recovery grant processes in accordance with the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act regulations through coordination with homeowners and Office of Community Development (State) staff
•Exercise independent judgment in his/her coordination and advice to applicants, within the limits of applicable federal and state statutes, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
•Ensure work is performed in accordance with established guidelines and grant funds are expended and accounted for in accordance with federal and state requirements
•Gather and review required documentation from homeowners in order to submit to the OCD staff for review and approval by GOHSEP and FEMA.
•Maintain a high degree of customer service standards and professionalism at all time in the performance of these duties
•Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
•1 – 3 years college education
•Up to 1 year experience as a Mitigation Analyst
•1 year of directly relate professional work experience may substitute for educational requirements
•Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations 44CRF; Stafford Act, and Hazard Mitigation Desk Reference
•Must have technical/professional background in finance, business management, engineering, architecture, construction management or similar fields.
•Effective oral, listening, and written communication skills
•Ability to acquire a working knowledge of applicable rules and regulations and the ability to provide technical assistance for the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program

Desired:
•BA/BS/AA degree in relative field
•Experience with FEMA Mitigation programs
•1 – 2 years direct experience in FEMA Mitigation Programs with State/Local governments
•Up to 1 of case management, claims adjusting or similar field

Additional Comments:
•Strong analytical skills, ability to work independently and effective interpersonal skills are required
•Valid Driver’s License
•Occasional travel.
