Nationally expanding New-Orleans based non-profit Operation REACH, Inc. is seeking a Chief Program Officer to provide leadership of the organization’s Program Division.
Operation REACH, Inc is a non-profit community education corporation dedicated to providing high-quality educational opportunities for youth and their families. Our programs are designed to foster life-long learning and personal success in the areas of work, recreation and community service through a cradle-to-career pipeline of programs.
The Chief Program Officer (CPO) is directly accountable to the CEO and serves at the pleasure of this officer. Overall responsibilities of the CPO include oversight of the Program Division and ensuring that all ORI programs operate to achieve desired results for participants and according to adopted uniform standards as they are implemented by professional and volunteer staff. The CPO also ensures that adequate administrative systems (e.g. communications, fiscal) are implemented to ensure a high degree of efficiency and accountability in the day-to-day delivery of ORI programs and services. The CPO is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of all program staff locally and regionally.
Additionally, the CPO ensures attainment of the Program Division’s mission through the selection, development, motivation and evaluation of human resources, both professional and volunteer. The CPO also designs and ensures implementation of cost-effective programs, employing economy while maintaining an acceptable level of quality and solid return on investment. The CPO assures proper planning including goal setting, strategy identification, benchmarking and evaluation to support on-going stakeholder investment in ORI programs.
Qualifications: High energy and enthusiasm with the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively. Must have experience supervising professional and volunteer staff positions; basic understanding of accounting principles and human resource management issues; 3-5 years of management experiences, particularly in the non-profit or social service arena; understanding of research and evaluation methodology particularly in the field of education; and must have formal training in education leadership, youth development or early childhood education. Minimum requirement is a Master’s Degree. An earned doctorate in the aforementioned area is preferred.
Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 depending upon experience.
