New Orleans Programmer and IT Developer

As a key member of Information Technology department, this position is responsible for assisting in the development of the Enterprise Application and assisting the IT Manager in aspects of network administration including servers, communications hardware/software and office systems.

Regular Duties:
• Enterprise Application Development (developing MySQL data driven entry screens and reports utilizing HTML, PHP, Flex, ActionScript, AJAX, JavaScript and CSS).
• Data Management (design databases/tables, analyze and troubleshoot database issues, security, backup and recovery).
• Network administration (assisting IT Manager on backup, security management, user account management, e-mail systems including e-mail, web server, internet access, office systems and applications support).
• Performs technology needs analysis.
• Manages small to medium sized projects according to agreed upon budgets and schedules.
• Assists with technology planning through ongoing research.
• Maintain system documentation.

Requires four year degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Business Administration; supplemented with one or more courses in current technology. Moderate experience (3 years) as an Administrator on a medium sized network of servers, desktop systems and communications devices using current technologies or same experience as a web developer. Strong organizational, written and verbal skills needed.

Knowledge:
• Demonstrated knowledge of Data Administration, preferably MySQL.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Web Development, including HTML, PHP, Flex, ActionScript, AJAX, JavaScript and CSS.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Linux servers and LAMPP.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Windows servers and desktop products.
• Demonstrated knowledge of setting up remote access for users.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies.
Skills:
• Computer technical skills. Ability to troubleshoot and replace server, workstation and printer hardware.
• Demonstrated ability to administer a 150+ node network including firewalls.
• Demonstrated ability to support networked printers and photocopiers.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
• Facilitation and change management skills.
