Uptown Maritime Consultants LLC, an agent of SPI Transportation (www.spitrans.com), is a leading provider of domestic logistic/transportation solutions with our key consultancy in domestic waterborne & special project cargo.

UMC is headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana with offices in York, Pennsylvania and Phoenix, Arizona.

We are considering candidates for Associate Logistics Broker opportunities supported by our New Orleans & York offices; this is 100% commission based and is not for the faint of heart.

The ALB is an independent agent compensated via IRS 1099; the typical commission base is 40% of net profit. No draws, advances, or expense accounts are offered. Commissions are paid bi-weekly on invoiced transactions.

Each of our Associate Logistics Brokers have generated personal incomes of over $100,000 annually.

Client base is protected by agreement; no territorial limits. UMC provides a sophisticated support system so you can focus on business development. The ALB is a homebased/telecommute position with little to no travel requirements. Significant phone/ecommerce/email contact is required.

The Associate Logistics Broker (ALB) is responsible for building customer relationships and the identification of their shipping needs. The role of the ALB is not limited to the following:

Build customer relationships and identify their shipping needs.

Develop new customers and business through the use of sales leads.

Present customers with cost effective solutions to meet their service requirements.

Qualify and actively prospect for new customers.

Establish and maintain carrier relationships to ensure success in meeting customer's shipping needs.

Coordinate movements of freight through an extensive carrier network.

Shift responsibilities between operational and sales demands.

Work interactively within a Logistics Broker Team to maximize overall performance.

Associated Logistics Broker Qualifications:

2-3 years experience in a commission-based sales role with strong customer service

Experience in the transportation or logistics industry strongly encouraged
