Position Description
• Overview: Support Preparedness, Health and Safety Program by teaching the local community how to prepare for, and respond to life-threatening emergencies.
• Compensation: Unpaid
• Semesters needed: Year-round
• Hours: Hours vary, 10-20 hours a week. Flexible
• Perks: The American Red Cross is a nationally known organization that offers a variety of programs and services. This intern position provides the opportunity to see a large non-profit organization in action and to help the community prepare for and respond to disaster situations. Most importantly, this intern position provides the opportunity to teach people the skills they need to save a life.
Key Responsibilities
• Instruct CPR/First Aid/AED and HIV/AIDS Education classes
• Actively market CPR/First classes to local community and businesses
• Maintain CPR/First Aid equipment and supplies
• Support department staff with data entry, consistent course quality and excellent customer service
Qualifications
• Must successfully pass CPR/First Aid course (training provided)
• Strong organizational skills
• Good written and communication skills
• Basic knowledge of computer programs and office equipment
• Good time management skill
