Position Description
• Overview: Conducts research and makes suggestions to which grants and funding opportunities would be suitable granting sources for the chapter. Helps to assist Financial Development Dept in meeting annual fundraising goals.
• Compensation: Unpaid
• Semesters needed: Year-round
• Hours: Hours vary, 10-20 hours a week. Flexible

This intern position provides the opportunity to see a large non-profit organization in action and to help the community prepare for and respond to disaster situations. Most importantly, this intern position provides the opportunity to teach people the skills they need to save a life.
Key Responsibilities
• Update and maintain shelter facility information in the National Shelter System.
• Conducts existing and new facility surveys.
• Update existing facility and vendor agreements.
• Attend and participate in mass care meetings and other preparedness meetings as needed.
• Participate in chapter disaster exercises and drills.
• Support chapter response activities.
• Performs other office duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in school and working towards degree in related field
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and public speaking skills.
• Working knowledge of computers with experience in Microsoft applications.
