WDSU-TV, the Hearst Television, Inc. NBC affiliate in New Orleans is seeking an experienced news manager to help lead our team. This position plays a substantial role in the day-to-day operations of the newsroom and in coordinating coverage of major events from elections to hurricanes to Mardi Gras. Applicants should be task-oriented, work well under deadline pressure and value the elements of good broadcast journalism. This position requires a minimum of three years of newsroom management experience (significant experience with digital media is helpful), excellent news judgment and strong communication skills. A degree in journalism, communications or like field preferred. The successful candidate will work closely with reporters, producers and assignment editors, and must be able to implement plans that support the station mission.
