OffBeat Magazine is looking for freelance critics to review recordings by local artists. Experience and knowledge of local music is very important, as is the ability to convey that knowledge in a small space. If you think you fit the bill, send an email to alexrawls@offbeat.com that outlines your background with New Orleans music, and paste in the email a representative review or two. If you don’t have writing samples, write a couple of reviews to show what you can do. Since reviews run between 200-250 words, tighter is better.
