Position Summary
The Technology Manager ensures that appropriate technology is available and in working order and supports the design, implement and management of a technology program which ensure the success of individuals at each school at network office.
Responsibilities
• Develop, manage and evaluate technical assistance, maintenance and repair procedures for equipment to ensure that FirstLine computers, telecommunications equipment and audio-visual equipment are available and in working order.
• Perform maintenance functions on the local-area network including back-ups, user access, data security and data recovery.
• Ensure that student information systems are backed up and available to staff at all times.
• Responsible for help-desk services for school and home users.
• Develop and conduct trainings for all computer users at times that are conducive to their schedules.
• Work with the operations and technology teams to make sure that all sites conform to the standards set by FirstLine Schools.
• Develop, manage and evaluate asset management procedures including ordering, purchasing and inventory.
• Support COO in selecting, evaluating and managing contracts and vendors.
• Support COO in developing, evaluating and managing school and network wide technology plans including preparing for E-Rate and other audits
• Support COO in developing and managing school and network technology budgets.
• Assist teachers with technical needs to integrate technology resources into lessons across the curriculum.
• Ensure appropriate technology is set up for school and network events.
• Coordinate and manage responsibilities of the members of the technology team.
Position Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• BA degree preferred.
• Experience with Windows; Mac preferred but nor required.
• Experience with help desk/desktop and IT service.
• Experience managing technology staff.
• Experience with school based technology (Smartboards etc.) preferred.
MSCE certification preferred

• Ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritize in order to meet deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to provide professional and courteous service.
• Experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to travel daily to school and network sites across the city.
• Ability to stand, sit and move between workstations, read monitors and paperwork, write on flip charts, set up audio-visual equipment, and use telephone and keyboard.
