liveset.com is looking to hire a talented, intelligent web developer with a proven ability to do great work.

Desired Outcome: Develop, manage and implement from scratch a process for rolling out the Company’s website within 180 days of start date

• Initial Responsibilities:
— To develop the strategic plan for the initial launch of the liveset.com site, including choosing the underlying architecture, video encoding language, initial feature set, and timeline for deployment. To work closely with the founder to develop and launch the initial version of the site
— To work closely with the founder to develop a budget for initial launch
— To help communicate the vision for website development to outside constituencies, including current and potential investors and board members
— To help develop the long-range strategic plan for the Company from a technical standpoint, including the timeline for deployment of additional features, mobile applications, social network interoperability, recommendation engine deployment, and other functionality as circumstances dictate
— Ability to assemble and manage a crack team of web developers who share the Company vision, and a comfort level with hiring people smarter than yourself

• And the following skill set:
— A passion for and command of all facets of web development, including how to properly build out a standards-based front-end; digital media and streaming experience a plus
— Experience configuring and maintaining a code repository (SVN, GitHub)
— Extensive familiarity managing development through a ticketing system (Pivotal Tracker, Trac, Jira or others)
— Ability to train an engineering team on agile development processes (Scrum)
— Ability to configure applications on scalable architecture (EC2 or Heroku)
— Ability to implement unit testing and industry standard code testing
— Willing to consider a variety of programming backgrounds – applicant will take part in determining the application framework
— A college degree (computer science or MIS) or equivalent real world experience (10,000 hours of web development)
— An online portfolio of live projects
— 5+ years prior experience in designing and developing scalable, community-oriented web sites; digital media and streaming experience preferred
— Prior experience managing people
