<p>Hello. I am currently pursuing an MFA at the Creative Writing Workshop of the University of New Orleans. I recieved straight A's in my first year and produced academic and creative writing. I relocated from Chicago, where I was born and raised. I have been working full time as a waiter while in school. I love my job but I fear the hospitality industry will forever be altered due to covid-19. I would like to find other employment more related to my field of study, if possible.&nbsp;<br></p><p>I was a licensed massage therapist in Chicago, and then began teaching at a trade school. I was poached by the Chicago City Colleges and taught anatomy, physiology, and pathology there along with massage technique. I fell in love with teaching and decided to earn a masters degree. Along the way, I had a prolific career as a professional actor in Chicago, where I appeared in over 50 productions and won several awards for my work. I sat on a board of directors for a theatre, sold vegan skin care on the side, was an administrative assistant for Chicago Public Schools, and a dog walker.&nbsp;<br><br>My priority in my early life was my acting career. Now my priority is to earn this degree and have a secure job where I am learning new skills and, ideally, doing something meaningful, like helping people. I believe I can learn to be proficient in any area or skill. I was assigned to teach anatomy and physiology at the college level with no credentials other than a massage license. I pulled all-nighters, studying every topic in depth and deciding how to best teach them. I had students tell me I was the best science teacher they ever had. I'd like to believe I can apply that level of curiosity and rigor to any field and be an asset to any company.&nbsp;<br></p>
